Veterinary Nurse and Hospital Coordinator

Jill, Veterinary Nurse Jill Rodriguez is a Veterinary Nurse and a Hospital Coordinator who has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since October of 2001. She began working in the animal care field in 1997 and is certified in animal care through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.

"I like that we are a progressive hospital that stays on top of the latest medical advances," she says. "We keep our equipment updated to provide the best quality of care and we also have wonderful doctors and support staff to work with.

She has two Pembroke Corgis at home named Morgan and Mason. Her interests include camping and spending time with her husband and kids.

Stephanie, Veterinary NurseVeterinary Nurse Stephanie has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since October of 2008, but began her career in animal care in 2000. She also has an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice and is working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.

"I like working at Hill Country Animal Hospital because it's a fast-paced hospital," she says. "My coworkers make it that much more interesting and fun because they share the same interests as me. Also, a lot of our clients are long-term and that makes me feel good knowing they love coming back and entrusting us with their pets."

At home, Stephanie has a rescued Poodle named Emmy. Her interests include bowling, working out, cooking, gambling, and spending time with her family.

Donia, Veterinary NurseDonia is certified in animal care through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since 2005. She began working in animal care during high school in 1995 and trained here at the Hospital for her certification. She also has certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and is taking college coursework toward a teaching degree.

"We practice the highest quality of medicine here at the Hospital," she says. "I also enjoy my coworkers, and that my supervisor, practice manager and the practice owner have been very accommodating to me as a working mother."

Donia has a Blue Heeler named Skyler at home and she loves being a mommy, camping, fishing, reading, and gardening.

Amanda, Veterinary Nurse Helping the veterinarians with pet examinations and taking care of the pets are Amanda's favorite part of her job as a veterinary nurse. Her positive attitude and her eagerness to help pets and their families make her a natural in her position. She is currently studying to be a certified veterinary assistant and has been working with our staff since September, 2012.

"I like working at Hill Country Animal Hospital because I enjoy our clients and the working environment," she said. "Our staff makes everyone feel at home and I like that caring feeling."

In her free time, Amanda enjoys riding her Harley Davidson with her husband, playing with her five dogs and writing (poetry, songs, etc.).

Jasmine, Veterinary Nurse Interacting with our clients is Jasmine's favorite aspect of her Veterinary Nurse job. Jasmine is currently enrolled at The University of Texas at San Antonio studying the necessary prerequisite classes for veterinary school. She joined our staff in September 2012.

"We have great clients here at Hill Country Animal Hospital," Jasmine said. "They are friendly and willing to do everything possible to keep their pets healthy."

In her free time, Jasmine enjoys reading, hiking, fishing, camping, playing video games and watching The Walking Dead.

Alyssa, Veterinary NurseVeterinary nurse Alyssa joined Hill Country Animal Hospital in December, 2013 after working as a veterinary nurse and receptionist at two other hospitals over four years. A graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Biomedical Science, Alyssa's duties as a veterinary nurse include educating clients, drawing blood, taking x-rays, and assisting with various lab procedures. Alyssa's favorite part of her job is forming relationships with long term clients, and getting to watch pets grow from "puppy to elder."

Alyssa has two dogs: Ace, a German shepherd; and Pennie, a mini Dachshund. In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading, taking her dogs to the park, and watching movies.

Julia Baileya, Veterinary Nurse Veterinary Nurse Julia brings a sense of humor and a positive attitude to all the tasks she performs at Hill Country. These responsibilities include assisting our doctors and nurses, cleaning and maintaining the hospital, preparing diagnostic tests and drawing up vaccines. She's been with us since December of 2011.

"I like working with the doctors and the staff because we make a great team!" Julia said about why she enjoys working at Hill Country so much. "Everyone brings unique qualities to the workplace and we all seem to work together very well."

Julia has three dogs, an Aussie-Cocker mix named Cinammon; a Chihuahua weenie named Salley and long hair Chihuahua weenie named Jersey. She enjoys working out, walking, jogging and going to the movies.

Caisha, Veterinary Technician Veterinary nurse Caisha joined the Hill Country Animal Hospital team in May 2015. Her responsibilities encompass all aspects of patient care from a nursing standpoint, as well as aiding with the education of clients. "I enjoy accomplishing various tasks asked of me in my position," she says. "There is no job too big or too small."

Caisha has an associate's degree in Veterinary Technology, is a licensed veterinary technician, and has been working in the animal care field since 2007. She most enjoys providing pet owners with the knowledge to give their pets long, happy, and healthy lives - with a strong emphasis on the importance of dental care.

Caisha and her husband share their home with three dogs, Zeke, Yenko, and Rally, and a Siamese cat named Sushi. As a Pit Bull owner, she is a strong advocate of promoting the "true joy of the breed." She and her husband spend their free time building, racing, and showing cars competitively. They are also big Indianapolis Colts fans and spend Sundays watching games, grilling, and lounging poolside.

Emery Licensed veterinary technician Emery joined our team in August 2015. Her responsibilities include providing patient care and client education, monitoring vitals during surgical procedures, administering vaccinations, and running lab work. Her favorite part of the job is "snuggling patients."

"I love working with a team that is dedicated to providing the best care possible to our patients," she says.

Emery has a Blue Heeler-German Shepherd mix named Bandit. She enjoys hiking, camping, reading, boxing and yoga.

Roxy Veterinary nurse Roxy joined the Hill Country Animal Hospital team in September 2015, bringing 13 years of experience in the veterinary field. With a contagious positive attitude, she most enjoys learning from her peers and passing that knowledge on to our clients. Her responsibilities include everything from client interaction and education, to patient care, surgical monitoring, and completing lab work.

"HCAH is a team unlike any I've ever experienced," she says. "It is a cohesive unit that works together and focuses on pet care and values all opinions. I wish I had found this hospital sooner."

Roxy is a former operating room coordinator, lead surgical technician, and client relations specialist. She has a bachelor's degree and teaching certification in Art, as well as two associate's degrees.

A self-proclaimed Dachshund enthusiast, she shares her home with eight little dogs: Tim Burton, Helena Bonham Carter, Woody Picasso, Buttercup, Bootz, Cowboy, Abigail and Azul. Her hobbies include artistic pursuits, such as painting, drawing, making jewelry, and designing clothing. She also likes to get outside to hike, bike or play paintball. However, most of her days off are spent working on her ranch, feeding her chickens, playing with her Dachshunds, and relaxing with her husband.

As a quick learner and a very organized individual, Rocky successfully stays on top of her various responsibilities as one of our veterinary nurses. Rocky joined our staff in September 2012.

"I really enjoy working here because all of my co-workers are 100% dedicated to providing the best care for pets and their owners," she said. "It's amazing to see how many of our clients will go above and beyond for their pets."

Rocky has two dogs, Sadie and Princess and a cat named Cupcake. She enjoys taking her dogs to the river, park or even out to eat! She also enjoys bowling, shooting pool and spending time with her family and friends.
