Veterinary Nurse and Hospital Coordinator

Jill, Veterinary Nurse Jill Rodriguez is a Veterinary Nurse and a Hospital Coordinator who has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since October of 2001. She began working in the animal care field in 1997 and is certified in animal care through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association.

“I like that we are a progressive hospital that stays on top of the latest medical advances,” she says. “We keep our equipment updated to provide the best quality of care and we also have wonderful doctors and support staff to work with.

She has two Pembroke Corgis at home named Morgan and Mason. Her interests include camping and spending time with her husband and kids.

Stephanie, Veterinary NurseVeterinary Nurse Stephanie has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since October of 2008, but began her career in animal care in 2000. She also has an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice and is working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice.

“I like working at Hill Country Animal Hospital because it’s a fast-paced hospital,” she says. “My coworkers make it that much more interesting and fun because they share the same interests as me. Also, a lot of our clients are long-term and that makes me feel good knowing they love coming back and entrusting us with their pets.”

At home, Stephanie has a rescued Poodle named Emmy. Her interests include bowling, working out, cooking, gambling, and spending time with her family.

Robert, Veterinary NurseRobert is a Veterinary Nurse who joined the staff of Hill Country Animal Hospital in April of 2007. In addition to his years of experience he is currently studying for a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree.

“I like working here because of the very high standard of medical care given to the animals,” he says. “There is something very satisfying about being able to care for our sick patients and help them back to health.”

At home, Robert has a mixed breed named Josh, a Dachshund named Gordon, and a Lab named Packer.

Donia, Veterinary NurseDonia is certified in animal care through the Texas Veterinary Medical Association and has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since 2005. She began working in animal care during high school in 1995 and trained here at the Hospital for her certification. She also has certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and is taking college coursework toward a teaching degree.

“We practice the highest quality of medicine here at the Hospital,” she says. “I also enjoy my coworkers, and that my supervisor, practice manager and the practice owner have been very accommodating to me as a working mother.”

Donia has a Blue Heeler named Skyler at home and she loves being a mommy, camping, fishing, reading, and gardening.

Cindy, Veterinary NurseCindy is a Veterinary Technician who has been working with Hill Country Animal Hospital since February of 2011, but began her career in animal care in 2005.

Asked what she enjoys most about her work, she says the friendly environment of our animal hospital as well as the ability to learn about new diseases and conditions and how to successfully treat them.

Cindy has three cats named Othello, Ginger, and Cera, and she enjoys hiking, movies, swimming, and hanging out with her friends.

Lisa, Veterinary NurseLisa is a Veterinary Nurse who first started working with Hill Country Animal Hospital in 2000 and began her career in animal care in 1993.

“I really like that I get to see our clients’ pets grow from being a puppy or kitten into their adult years,” she says when asked about her work. “I have also found that at this hospital nurses are given more responsibility, which allows us to learn more and grow in our jobs.”

Lisa has a Heeler named Harley, a Lab named Jack and a cat named My. Her interests include gardening, crochet, crafts and four-wheeling.

Lisa, Veterinary Nurse Veterinary Technician Lisa is an experienced hand at working with animals, having started in the field in 1999. She's been with Hill Country since November of 2011. Everyday she looks forward to meeting our old and new clients and getting to know their pets better.

"The doctors and staff are wonderful people to work with and there is great teamwork here," Lisa said. "Everyone is skilled and passionate in what they do."

Lisa has an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology.

She has nine pets in all, including six dogs: Trooper, Maya, Hannah, Rowan, Hailey and Millie. Lisa also has three cats, George, Silvia and Ruby. Lisa is involved in her church - she's a vocalist in the church choir - and she's learning to play the bass guitar and enjoys spending time with her husband.

Veterinary Assistants

Chasity, Veterinary AssistantVeterinary Assistant Chasity has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since September of 2010, but began her career caring for companion animals in 2008. She adds that her many different life experiences with her own animals has been very helpful in her work.

“I enjoy working at Hill Country Animal Hospital because it is such a high-quality hospital,” she says. “The people who work here are very knowledgeable and I learn a lot from them every day.”

Chasity has a Golden Retriever mix named Pecos Bill and enjoys horseback riding, photography and spending time with her friends.

Josh Hovda, Nurse's Assistant Veterinary Assistant Joshua helps out in many different areas of the hospital during the day, including monitoring patients after surgery, cleaning the hospital, and assisting both the veterinarians and the nurses. Josh is both funny and compassionate in his work.

"Everyone throughout the hospital is knowledgable, friendly, hard-working and pulls their own weight," Josh said.

He is currently studying for his Computer Information Systems degree at Texas A&M-San Antonio.

Josh has three miniature Dachshunds named Ginger, Wrigley and Pili.

He enjoys watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs, working out, running, cycling, hiking, gaming online, playing guitar, tubing, the lake, the coast, the valley, playing board games with friends and going to church.

Julia Baileya, Nurse's Assistant Veterinary Assistant Julia brings a sense of humor and a positive attitude to all the tasks she performs at Hill Country. These responsibilities include assisting our doctors and nurses, cleaning and maintaining the hospital, preparing diagnostic tests and drawing up vaccines. She's been with us since December of 2011.

"I like working with the doctors and the staff because we make a grea team!" Julia said about why she enjoys working at Hill Country so much. "Everyone brings unique qualities to the workplace and we all seem to work together very well."

Julia has three dogs, an Aussie-Cocker mix named Cinammon; a Chihuahua weenie named Salley and long hair Chihuahua weenie named Jersey. She enjoys working out, walking, jogging and going to the movies.
