Financial Manager
Human Resources and Financial Manager Deb Carter has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since July of 2002. In addition to her years of experience, she has quite a bit of human resources experience and taken a number of business courses.
“The atmosphere here is great,” she says of why she enjoys her work so much. “We have a very caring and professional staff and our clients want the very best for their pets, which we are able to provide them.”
Deb has four Chihuahuas named Joey, Jackie, Jersey and JJ, and is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association. Her interests include scrapbooking, camping and reading.

Operations Manager
Lisa Christie has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since May of 2007, but began her career in the pet care field in 1991. In addition to her years of experience she has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with a minor in Criminal Justice.
“I like that we cater our care to the pets’ and clients’ needs,” she says. “I am proud that we go out of our way to go the extra mile for our clients when we have the opportunity. It says a lot that we consider so many of our clients to be extended family members of our hospital.”
Lisa is also an SVCE certified Emergency Animal Rescue-Disaster IV Volunteer. Her pets include a Labrador Retriever named Baxter, a long-haired Chihuahua named Casey, and four cats named George, Joey, Simon, and Thomas. Her interests include gardening, shopping, reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family.
Client Relations Specialists
Client Relations Specialist Rebecca has about five years of experience working in the animal care field and has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since August of 2009. Currently, she is also working toward an English degree in professional writing at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
“I enjoy working with people that collaborate well together to help keep the clinic running smoothly,” she says when asked what she enjoys most about her work. “I also enjoy getting to know each client and pet individually, and establishing working relationships with those around me.”
Rebecca has a number of pets–five cats and two dogs–and is a frequent donor to the San Antonio and Helotes Humane Societies. Her interests include reading, drawing, working on research papers, and spending time with her son Aidan and fiancé Chris.
Cynthia is a Client Relations Specialist who has been with Hill Country Animal Hospital since September 2007 and began her career in the pet care field in 2005.
A fast learner and very good multitasker, she says, “I love that we always work to perform our best care, medicine and customer service for our patients and clients each and every day.”
Cynthia has a domestic shorthair cat named Cody and likes to spend her free time swimming and with her husband trying to keep up with her two boys.
Kathy has been working in client relations for us since October of 2011. She helps keep the clinic running smoothly by answering the phones, making appointments, checking pets in and out of the clinic and keeping our important paperwork in order. Kathy has more than 20 years experience in working with veterinarians.
"I've worked in a lot of clinics. This one is the best run, most compassionate and caring one I've ever been at," Kathy said about what makes Hill Country so unique. "Truly quality care. The clients here are great. I really enjoy coming to work every day."
Kathy has a B.S. in Animal Science from Texas A&M.
At home, Kathy takes care of three Corgis, Devon, Dillon and Duncan, and two cats named Hailey and Jinx. She has two horses named Hatter and Boomer, who she enjoys showing and training. Kathy is also a member of the Lackland Saddle Club and the American Quarter Horse Assocation.
She enjoys riding quarter horses and Harley Davidsons, cooking, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and scrapbooking, jigsaw puzzles, leatherworking, fishing, hunting, hiking and most everything outdoors.
