Dr. Peterson founded Hill Country Animal Hospital in May of 1999, with the goal of bringing a full service, state-of-the-art animal hospital to Helotes and Northwest San Antonio.

Dr. Peterson graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, earning his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. He began his veterinary career in emergency medicine, and says this high level of medical care helped to shape the level of care he has always wanted to provide for his patients. Asked what he enjoys most about being a veterinarian, Dr. Peterson says “I enjoy the variety of veterinary medicine, the relationships formed with our clients, and I enjoy the business of veterinary practice. My job is different and exciting every day.”
Dr. Peterson is a long standing member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association. He and his wife Kelly have 2 children, and provide a home for four dogs, two cats and a rescued pet goat.
