Client Rights and Responsibilities
As a client of HCAH, you have the right to:
- Considerate, respectful and compassionate care by all members of our team
- Accurate, clear and timely information and communication regarding your pet's health
- Receive information you can understand about your pet's health condition(s), prognosis, treatment options, and the risks and benefits of each treatment option
- Participate in your pet's care
- Be informed of the costs of evaluation and treatment and payment options available
- Accept or reject treatments or diagnostic tests for your animals and to be informed of the consequences of refusal of treatment or testing
- Receive timely and courteous replies to any concerns you raise regarding the care or service your pet receives
As a Client of HCAH, you have the responsibility to:
- Disclose relevant and accurate information about your pet's health and history to our team
- Disclose any of your pet’s behavioral issues that may affect patient and/or staff safety
- Maintain a respectful demeanor when communicating your needs and concerns to our staff
- Read and understand any consent forms and estimates that you sign
- Abide by our policy to leash dogs and keep cats in carriers while in the hospital for the safety of all
- Abide by our payment policies
- Communicate with our team if you will be late or need to reschedule or cancel an appointment
- Work collaboratively with our team to develop and perform the agreed-upon treatment plan
